Value for money, cleaniness, comfort and location.
They were very accommodating to allow my wife and two college aged kids in one room. On the other hand, there was no privacy and the kids were up until 3 am most nights: get two rooms! The location was very central to metro, about three blocks south of Baranda stop. We took the metro from the airport and bought a five day all you can ride card which was most convenient. The city does not go to bed and always felt safe on subway and in the neighborhood of Ayre. Would highly recommend and will return again!
A good find on Booked.net. It is a clean, modern hotel - it's a bit like staying in an ikea catalogue at times :). The price is great for a city hotel (I've paid almost as much to stay in hostals in Madrid!) but it means that the location isn't perfect but it's close to the metro and you can still be in Sol within 15 minutes and a change (Linea 9 and then Linea 2). Already recommended the hotel to a friend for a city break later in the year.
Friendly staff plesant admosphere
Excellent buffet breakfast whihc was included in the price. Lovely garden and convenient for Retiro Park. Convenient for most sights and close to metro station
This hotel was great value.Staff were very helpful on places to eat and things to do.Its is 2mins from a metro station which you can get straight from the airport.
The staff, comfort and location were very good
The poached eggs for breakfast were very poor. They were cooked, tasted of and presented in vinegar which soaked into the toast. My wife had to leave her full cooked breakfast as a result of this.
The staff was friendly, helpful and most spoke at least some English. Very helpful in a foreign city. The hotel was just 2 blocks from the Metro. It was very modern and clean. Most signs, menus and notices were in both English and Spanish.
The beds were more firm than I was used to and the pushed-together twin beds would separate creating a crack in the middle making it difficult to sleep close to my wife.
very close to Metro station and bus stop, taxis always waiting right in front of the hotel, walking distance to the center is quite far; excellent breakfast and bar; restaurant is ok; helpful front desk agents who all spoke English; friendly staff throughout the hotel (mostly only Spanish); "Chill out lounge" nights with live DJ; spacious bathroom/shower; in room safe; modern and recently refurbished room; effective black-out curtains; a/c-heat self control; bathroom amendments filled up daily; requested non smoking with 1 bed and luckily got one; more a business than a tourist hotel
we can only comment on our room on the 2nd floor in the Europe building: thin walls and unfortunately we had bad luck and very noisy neighbors; wooden floors, lady above loved her high heels... there are a few hospitals close by so, sirens 24/7; trash pick up @ 12-1am almost every night; bed slipped on floor; could have more wardrobe space (if you are 2 ppl and stay more than 5 nights it's kind of tight); WiFi didn't work with us; only Spanish TV channels; if you don't speak Spanish, bring a phrase book, you will need it all over Madrid! :)
Check in staff were very accommodating (we arrived about half an hour early). Comfortable bed, good shower pressure (disabled room), heated towel rails, really good dinner first night in the restaurant - though the waiting service was very patchy (charming to clumsy) ... depending on the waiter. Well located for metro (choice of 2 different lines) as well as bus to the city and easy walking distance to Madrid's very beautiful Retiro park.
Though we had a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor (for all I know the entire hotel is non-smoking), I awoke @ 4.30am on the first night choking on the smell of cigarettes. I could also hear male voices talking and was unsure whether the smokers had rendez-vous'd in the corridor outside our room, as the smell was so strong. It was not a problem on the following night. The wifi does not reach the first floor ... nor does it work in the dining/breakfast room. Not sure exactly where you have to be in order to get it to work. But we found that this was not an unusual occurrence in Spain, as many hotels claiming to have wifi had very weak signal that didn't reach all floors. In spite of those negatives, I would probably stay there again.
Restaurant good - Breakfast really nice - Room nice & clean
During 1 week of our stay (2 rooms) they could not provide us for a few hours with 1 iron to iron our clothes, unbelievable for a 4*- The WIFI a complete disaster -
close to transport, park and prado museum
Nice room, helpful staff, good facilities, close to Metro so good for exploring Madrid.
Traffic and generator noise (Europe), hotel parking expensive, not guaranteed and only accessed from other hotel.
Rooms for two persons had one stair?? Bij Reservation was in not clear, the (discount?)price of the room was not include the breakfast. we stay their 3 night with 3 rooms en totaal 6 persons, i think ik was better to make a all-inn price special for family
Nice hotel, big room, good beds, no noise, very clean and comfortable bathroom. Located at east side of Retiro park, close to city centre and close to subway. Very calm, no noise at all (as is the case in many other hotels in Madrid Centro).Very good price for three nights stay.I certainly recommend this hotel. Indeed worth 4 stars!
